Grief comes in many different forms. From personal loss to traumatic events, our culture is realizing more and more that we are grieving. What does this mean and how does it affect us? This seminar will provide insight into grief in general and allow participants to understand their place in the grief journey, regardless of the origin. Beyond that, the grief journey on a broader scale will be explored within the context of community and how our understanding of grief impacts the way we grieve corporately.
Participants will walk away with a working understanding of the grieving process, personally and within community.
Participants will have specific tools and action steps for how to develop and implement a grief recovery plan for their organization (in advance and in response to tragedy).
Participants will gain the vocabulary and skills needed to have conversations surrounding grief- including crisis intervention and acute care, as well as long term grief recovery in addition to the overall unique nuances of the grieving process.
Participants will be able to strengthen their ownership of personal grief experiences (both past and yet to come) and have the tools to take a deeper dive into that experience should they want to with homework and breakout take aways.
